Beyond the published objects.

Partnerships, less-published commissions and work still taking shape. Each entry distinguishes what has been confirmed from what remains unannounced.

01

Apple

2019–2022

Apple announced that it would be a primary client of Ive’s independent company in June 2019. The consulting relationship reportedly ended in July 2022. A definitive project-by-project account of LoveFrom’s contribution has not been published; later Apple products are therefore not automatically attributed to the collective.

02

Airbnb — reviews, icons & travel research

2020–2024

Airbnb announced the partnership in October 2020. Tripp Mickle’s 2024 reporting credits LoveFrom with contributions to the review system, three-dimensional app icons and a travel-postcard concept. A later correction, quoted in the linked discussion, associates that concept with digital postcards rather than the Icons experiences programme. The record does not attribute Airbnb’s entire app to LoveFrom.

03

OpenAI & io

2023–2025

The collaboration began in 2023 and was announced in May 2025. OpenAI confirmed that io’s team merged into the company in July 2025, while Jony Ive and LoveFrom remained independent and took on design and creative responsibilities. The official announcement does not reveal a finished device.

05

LoveFrom Scholarships

2023

The collective’s scholarship programme supports underrepresented students in design education. The Royal College of Art announced its programme in April 2023, including financial support and mentoring, alongside programmes at RISD and California College of the Arts.

07

Richard Rogers memorial book

Documented 2023

LoveFrom created a self-published memorial book about Richard Rogers’s final project at Château La Coste. It was an early application of LoveFrom Serif; the precise publication date remains unconfirmed.

08

Terra Carta Design Lab

2021

Jony Ive and the then Prince of Wales launched the design initiative with the Royal College of Art to support responses to climate and biodiversity challenges. It is recorded as an educational initiative; the participating teams retain authorship of their designs.

09

How To Spend It — makers & creators

2022

Jony Ive guest-edited the Financial Times magazine’s 7 May 2022 issue, developed with the LoveFrom team around making and the human hand. David Sims photographed Ive holding his father Michael’s hand for the cover. Contributions included Yo-Yo Ma, Lily Allen and Trombone Shorty. This is an editorial collaboration, rather than a claim that LoveFrom designed every featured object.

Jackson Square studio & garden

Reported 2024–2026

Published reporting describes LoveFrom’s plans to join its San Francisco buildings around a landscaped courtyard, with a pavilion and a shop for objects including custom notebooks. It is a documented architectural programme; the sources do not establish a completed, publicly opened campus or a finished retail range. The archive therefore records the plans separately from released designs.
